Bio

A Bay Area native and member of Actor’s Equity, Nicole grew up dancing at Pacific Ballet Academy in Mountain View, CA, performing such roles as the Dancing Doll and Snow Queen in the annual Nutcracker. A graduate of SCU with a degree in Psychology and a Theater Arts minor, she performed in her first musical her senior year, My Fair Lady. During her time there, she had the opportunity to work with world renowned director/choreographer, Bill T. Jones, as a dancer helping him develop a piece for a European professional dance company. Shortly after graduating, she landed her first regional theater show, in American Musical Theatre of San Jose’s South Pacific, in the role of Liat.

Since then, Nicole has worked on stage and on screen. She has enjoyed working on both sides of the table, as an actor and as a creative staff member. Most recent acting credits include Marguerite/Socheata/Houng in Liebling (TheatreWorks’ New Works Festival), Him in the West Coast premiere of Bald Sisters (San Jose Stage Company), Xi Yan in Chinglish (SF Playhouse – Bay Area Theater Critics’ Award for Best Principal Actor in a Comedy), and Thuy/Mui/Danielle in the world premiere of Colonialism is Terrible but Pho is Delicious (Aurora Theatre Company – Bay Area Theater Critics’ Award nomination). Other favorite roles include Linda Low in Flower Drum Song (Woodminster Theater), Mimi in Miss Saigon (American Musical Theatre of San Jose), and Michelle in Great Wall (TheatreWorks’ New Works Festival).

Other credits include work with TheatreWorks, 42nd St. Moon, Magic Theater, Theater on San Pedro Square, Sunnyvale Community Players, Foothill Musical Theater, American Musical Theatre of San Jose, Palo Alto Players, South Bay Musical Theater, SJ Rep, South Valley Civic Theater, Hillbarn Theater, and Woodminster Theater. She has also done commercials for Slack, CA Earthquake Authority, Stanford Children’s Hospital, and CA Olive Oil, among others.

Nicole is also a Nationally Board Certified massage therapist and health educator. She maintains her certification with continuing education credits though she is not currently practicing anywhere. With that background, she has enjoyed learning about Eastern medicine and homeopathic remedies that come in handy at home.

Outside of stage and screen, she lives with her husband, daughter, and their rescue kitty in the South Bay Area. Depending on the day, she stays active with a variety of exercise (so she doesn’t get bored), baking up a storm, and momming and chauffeuring her daughter to activities.
